The New Mexico Norseman

Home Page

This is a website for the New Mexico Norseman. A Fan club dedicated to the Minnesota Vikings based out of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The New Mexico Norseman, while based in the Albuquerque metro area, welcomes all fans through out New Mexico. At present, we are recruiting members to join us through out the 2009 NFL season in hopes of gaining enough members to hold weekly game get togethers starting in the 2010 season.

You can now add the New Mexico Norseman on Facebook and MySpace! Please join the most active and lively Vikings blog site here at the Daily Norseman.

Goals: To become the best dang fan club in the State of New Mexico!
Find a gathering place to call "home" during the season
Obtain prizes for giveaways and raffles
Off season events such as BBQ's, meet's and local trips
Just to have lots of fun

Current Idea's: Game Watching - At present, site's being considered for game watching are Fox & Hound, Stoneface Tavern,
Twin Peaks and Slate Street in Rio Rancho. Though at this time, the first 3 choices are more
desired for easier access to I-25 and more central for both Albuquerque and Rio Rancho.
Also, the thought of a rovery house to house gathering has been thought of too with a pot
                                                               luck for munchies.

Prizes - Giveaway and raffle prizes thought of include, jersey's, memorabilia, Vikings related odd's and end's,
perhaps tickets to regional games in cities like Phoenix, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City and Houston.
Also tickets to games in the Metrodome as well. However, if we do go the ticket route, travel will be
entirely up to the winner! But don't worry, most tickets would probably be for mid season and
                                              onwards.

Off Season - Idea's being considered here are several summertime picnics at various local parks. Maybe a
day at Cliff's Amusement Park or a weekend trip to a lake. Also, gathering for draft day would
be in the works as well.

                                                                                                   All Ideas are welcome!

Membership - Thats the best part........it costs NOTHING!!!!!!!! Zero, zip, zilch! Can't beat that in today's economy. Of course,
donations going into a club only fund would be happily accepted. Also, see the banners on this page? Click
them as it helps bring in money for the club as well! But no, unlike other fan clubs, we won't force a ransom
to join! How cool is that?

About the Founder: The founder of the New Mexico Norseman, Greg, is a Minnesota native who 1990, relocated with his family at the age of 17 to the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. As a native in Minnesota, Greg got to witness many wonderful and not so wonderful memories of not only the Minnesota Vikings, but also the Twins and North Stars. While New Mexico is home, Greg still has a strong love and connection to Minnesota and not only it's teams, but history and culture. Greg had thought of creating a fan club back in 2006, but as we all know, life has it's priorities. Now, in 2009, it has become reality. So, whether you're a Vikings fan born in New Mexico, Minnesota or anywhere else and now reside in New Mexico, time to gather the clan and storm the State of New Mexico with Vikings pride! SKOL!!!!!!

Please email the club founder/president for further info and about joining the New Mexico Norseman.
